Nadia Birkenstock et Ralf Kleemann forment un duo de harpistes qui ont eu une influence décisive sur la scène harpistique internationale, tant pour leurs nombreuses performances dans le cadre de festivals européens et internationaux que pour leur vaste production musicale, enregistrements, publications sur CD et partitions et vidéos virales.

Au son lumineux et scintillant des deux harpes se mêle la voix chaude et claire de la mezzo-soprano Nadia Birkenstock, à laquelle s’allie la douceur de la flûte de Ralf Kleemann.

Steve Hubback débuta sa carrière musicale professionnelle comme percussionniste, avec des prestations acclamées dans toute l’Europe et jusqu’en Corée du Sud. Son inlassable curiosité de chercheur de sonorités spécifiques le conduisit en Scandinavie où il fut initié au travail des métaux, lui permettant de réaliser ses propres instruments.

Ensemble, les trois musiciens tissent un cosmos sonore délicat et fascinant, groovy et captivant, dans lequel peuvent éclore le récit d’histoires merveilleuses associant l’écoute à l’interaction ludique avec le public. Ce programme commun se concentre sur les improvisations et les compositions originales, imprégnées d’harmonies extraites du répertoire traditionnel des Pays Celtiques.

Nadia Birkenstock and Ralf Kleemann form a duo of harpists who have had a decisive influence on the international harp scene, both for their numerous performances in the framework of European and international festivals and for their vast musical production, recordings, publications on CD, scores and viral videos.

The bright and sparkling sound of the two harps is mingled with the warm and clear voice of mezzo-soprano Nadia Birkenstock, which is combined with the sweetness of Ralf Kleemann’s flute play.

Steve Hubback began his professional musical career as a percussionist, with acclaimed performances throughout Europe and as far as South Korea. Always on the lookout for unusual percussion sounds, he discovered metalworking in Scandinavia and started to manufacture his own instruments, with great success: within two years leading Scandinavian percussionists were playing his instruments, which soon invaded the global percussion scene.

Together, the three musicians weave a delicate and fascinating sound cosmos, groovy and captivating, listening closely and interacting playfully with the audience, while telling wonderful stories with their instruments and voices.

This joint program focuses on improvisations and original compositions, imbued with songs and melodies from the traditional repertoire.
